Starting a Camp in your Community:
Compassion to Action
Teen Reach Adventure Camps or T.R.A.C. was founded in 2000 by Tim and Serena Howell. This innovative ministry offers training, coaching and ongoing support in order for the local church to sponsor two three day, separate gender summer camps for the abused and neglected youth in their area - ages 12 to 15. Working in cooperation with the local county Social Services and foster care agencies, your church can make a lasting impact in the lives of some of the neediest children in your area!

What does it take to start a camp?
SELECT leaders. Your Camp Director and their team will need energy, leadership capability, organizational skills, and a heart for youth in foster care.
SEND them to training. Your Camp Director and two to four additional people will attend an existing Teen Reach Adventure Camp. They will not only observe a camp in action, but they will receive hours of intense training regarding organizing the camp, interacting with county government, preparing counselors/staff, and much more.
START your ministry to abused and neglected children! The year after training, your church will be ready to sponsor its own T.R.A.C. Your Camp Director and their team will be trained in how to select a camp, recruit volunteers, raise funds, train counselors and staff, and much more.
